캐나다 출신 싱어송라이터 샤니아 트웨인은 매력적인 여가수다. 1965년생이니 올해로 50이 넘는 가수다. 절정의 인기를 누릴때는 한국에 많은 팬이 있었던 가수로 미모만큼이나 목소리가 아름답다. 컨트리 사운드 가수로 잘 알려져 있다.

 

오래전에 샤니아 트웨인은 부부 스와프같은 기막힌 사연으로 알려진적이 있다. 트웨인과 절친이었던 티보드가 자신의 절친과 바람을 피고 결국 십수년의 결혼생활의 종지부를 찍게 된다. 그리고 트웨인은 티보드의 남편이었던 스위스 출신의 프레데릭과 결혼하게 된다. 의도하던 의도하지 않았던 간에 이들은 '부부 스와프'를 하게 됐고, 트웨인은 프레데릭과 2011년 1월 재혼하기에 이르른다. 그러나 그녀는 그 충격으로 오랫동안 노래를 부르지 못한다.

 

한국에는 알려지지 않은 것 같은데 그녀는 책도 출간했다. 1년후 부부스와프(?)로 결혼한 그녀는 자신의 삶을 닮은 자서전을 출간하게 이른다.

 

샤니아 트웨인은 먼저 자서전에서 "어릴 적에 계부가 어머니를 화장실에게 때리는 장면을 여러 차례 목격한 사실이 뇌리에 남아있었다. 이는 의붓아버지의 폭력에 자신이 아무것도 할 수 없었다는 자책감으로 장시간 나를 괴롭혔다"고 소개했다.
