Martika의 사회성 짙은 노래 Toy Soldier

1969년 생인 Martika는 캘리포니아에서 태어난 가수이다. 지금은 미국과 화해단계의 막바지에 있는 국가인 쿠바의 부모에게서 태어난 그녀는 캘리포니아에서 성장했다. 그녀의 대표곡인 Toy Soldier는 마약으로 희생된 10대들의 이야기를 다룬 노래이다. 이곡으로 인해 마티카는 세계적인 스타로 자리하게 된다. CF 레주메의 광고음악으로 사용된 적이 있다.

 

지금은 수많은 마약이 나와서 선택의 자유(?)가 있지만 당시만 해도 코카인이 대세였던 적이 있다. 마약은 특정 사람이 의지부족으로 몰아가는 경향이 있지만 그들을 위해 친절하게 마약을 생산하고 판매, 유통시키는 조직이 가장 큰 문제이다. 유럽의 어떤 국가에서는 마약이 그냥 자유의지에 의해 선택할 수 있다. 사회가 건강하다면 그것도 또 하나의 방법일지도 모른다.
